At Eaglehill, we have always followed the premise that honesty is the best policy.  As purebred dog breeders, we feel that we hold a high level of responsibility for every puppy born from our bloodline.  While many kennels with distinguishable, top winning families maintain 20 or more dogs in a kennel environment and whelp 10-15 litters per year, we have always felt that poodles cannot thrive without individual attention every day.  Therefore, we maintain no more than five or six house dogs (three of them currently geriatric)  and limit the number of litters per year that are born in our home.  We have been fortunate over the years to attract several co-breeders to our family of dogs based on the quality of our line and a shared belief in the same breeding philosophy of breeding only bitches capable of becoming champions, over the age of two years with complete genetic testing for progressive retinal atrophy (Optigen prcd testing), hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia (OFA) and hereditable eye defects (CERF) to sires with the same level of testing.

At Eaglehill, all puppies are born in our bedroom and spend the first five weeks of their life there with their dam, receiving daily handling.  They are then moved to the media/family room for socialization and interaction with the adult dogs and family and friends.  We guarantee all of our puppies against any genetic defect which we can test against and constantly evaluate pedigrees of breeding stock for other heritable liabilities.  We are pleased to be able to offer puppies for pets from our personal breeding stock, as well as from dogs which we have bred and co-own on a limited basis.  We encourage visits to our family of dogs before you consider purchasing a pet from us.

We currently co-breed and co-own champion breeding stock with Debbie and Rebecca Schnulle in Atlanta, GA  (Eaglehill- South) and Handi Skoritch in Indianapolis, IN (Riverspirit).  Since Debbie and Handi  also have foundations in other breeds dating back many years, our combined experience in the world of purebred dogs totals over 100 years!  Puppies from this combined breeding program receive the same care and attention to detail in rearing as those born in our home and carry the same guarantees.  This arrangement has allowed us to keep our own number of dogs to a minimum while developing a distinguishable family of miniature poodles. 

Our current house dogs include the geriatrics Ch. Eaglehill’s Curtain Call T.P. (14+ y.o.), Ch Ravendune Eaglehill’s Amity (12 y.o. standard) and Ch. Eaglehill’s Ravendune Regalia T.P. (11 y.o.).  Our current breeding bitches are Ch. Eaglehill’s Butterfly Kisses and Ch. Eaglehill’s It’s All About Me.  In order to keep space for upcoming generations we often times place retiring breeding animals with family and friends.  Our most recent placement was Ch. Eaglehill’s Butterfly Ballot T.P. who was adopted by our veterinarian.  He’ll be happy to serve as a reference to the health and temperament of our dogs!.
